Former Ticat LB Larry Dean signs with Eskimos

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have made yet another move on an unprecedented free agency day, signing free agent linebacker Larry Dean to a deal.

Dean enjoyed a stellar third season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, hitting career-highs in defensive tackles (105), interceptions (two) while also scoring his first career CFL touchdown.

The 30-year-old has suited up in 54 games in three seasons (2016-2018) with the Ticats, collecting 279 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, five sacks, three interceptions, a major score and five forced fumbles.

The six-foot, 226-pound middle linebacker was named a CFL East Division All-Star in 2017 and 2018. Dean was ranked No. 25 on CFL.ca’s top 30 pending free agent list.
